On June 4, 2008, MAPFRE S.A., completed its acquisition by merger of The Commerce Group, Inc. (NYSE:CGI) In connection with the completion of the acquisition, shareholders of The Commerce Group, Inc. will receive a package of information from Citibank, N.A., MAPFRE’s paying agent, within the next week explaining how to exchange their shares for cash.
